Accessibility statement

We want every calculator to work for everyone, whatever device or assistive technology you use.

Our target

GetExactAmount aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have built in

  • Every field has a visible label, and the unit is part of its name for screen readers ("Wall height, feet").
  • Errors appear under the field, in text with an icon, and explain how to fix them.
  • Results update as you type and are announced to screen readers after you pause, as a one-line summary.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and buttons and fields are at least 44 × 44 pixels.
  • Text and controls meet AA contrast, pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide and zoom to 400%, and Windows High Contrast mode is supported.
  • Animations respect the reduced-motion setting.

How we test

Before each release, every page is checked with the axe accessibility engine in Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and with Lighthouse.

Known limitations

We have not yet completed manual testing with VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA. If something does not work with your setup, please tell us.

Report a problem

Contact us with the page address and what happened. We aim to reply within five working days.
